Cake Pops 1st attempt

I have been looking at cake pops for a while now and I thought I can do that. Well it's not as easy as everybody makes it out to be. We had some issues with the melted chocolate at the end, and we made our cake balls a little to big and they kept falling off, but over all I think it was a great first attempt and we had fun doing it.

This is all you need

bake the cake and let it cool

When its cool crumble into small pieces

Then add half a tub of frosting and mush with your hand
till you get a ball.

Then roll in to balls (we made ours to big)
they should be smaller then your palm.

Then find kids to help you so your hands stay
clean.

Well maybe not. I love getting dirty.

The balls
Melt your candy melts and dip sticks in chocolate and push into balls,
let dry for a few min. then carefully cover with chocolate. We found this
to be the hardest part because the balls where to big.

All done.

Gold to silver and eww to oooo

This is my finished estate sale find. I was looking for a large mirror and was having no luck. I wanted something with flowers and it needed to be big. We went to an estate sale and I found this mirror and 2 small end table. I love the details on the mirror, I just hated that it was gold. With a little tape and a can of silver spray paint I got exactly what I was looking for.

Before
A little tape and wrapping paper

Spray paint

Dry
Even the dog likes it.

Well we are having quite the spontaneous weekend with the kids. John and I decided that we wanted to take the kids up to the house we are looking to buy to see if they like it and we also wanted to get up there before all the snow melted. The girls had some mixed thoughts about if this was a good idea or not 13 yr old Tay thought this idea sucked and Hay our 12 yr old is always up for anything and then there’s Alexa our other 13 yr old well she was pretty happy about it since she hasn’t seen snow since she was 4. Then there’s our 7yr old Liver, this well be her first time ever seeing snow. Well let me tell you she was ready to jump out of the car going through Atlanta to get her hands in it (and that was gross black snow). As we got out of Atlanta there was much more snow and it was so white and beautiful.

I think the kids like the house we are working on getting. All of the pictures here were taken at the house. I can’t wait to blog about all of our wonderful projects but thats for a post that will be later on in the week. As for right now I am siting in the hotel room waiting for everyone go to sleep.

Day one blogging

Wow so my first day or should I say night of blogging!!! OK so here it is we are sitting on the couch watching DIY and I deiced that I need to make a blog because what the heck I don't have enough going on in my life (that was sarcasm) I can't wait to post our projects and of course kids pictures. We are in the process of looking for a house in the Georgia mountains. We are what you may call impatient crafters, well maybe more John then me but we have already started projects for our new mountain home. So today John’s brain child was a kinda welcome sign, I wasn’t so excited till I saw the unpainted sign, now that he has it finished I am very excited, anytime I can distress I’m in. We were a little confused about colors so we went with a blue and tan. We are now calling it denim and khakis. It was fun and I enjoyed our time together. I can’t wait to see what we are doing tomorrow.

Well I am happy with how the sign turned out, now we just have to get the place to hang it.
